Trained as a biologist, Lamb has a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with additional experience and training from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland and George Washington University in Washington, DC. Her formal art training came from Montgomery College in Rockville, MD, the Corcoran School of Art and the Smithsonian Institution, both in Washington, DC. "Having been trained as a biologist before becoming a photographer, I have always been intrigued and enthralled by the beauty and precision of the natural world. In living organisms I have found that form and function interact wondrously to achieve a fundamental purpose, the replication and preservation of species," says Lamb. Lamb's work has been exhibited at venues including the Chicago Botanic Gardens, The American Institute of Architects in Washington, DC and the Smithsonian Institution and featured in Smithsonian Magazine.
