The 17th annual Academy Art Museum Craft Show and Artisians Marketplace is coming to the Museum and Waterfowl Festival Building the 18th and 19th of October, 2014. This is the most prestigious juried craft show on the Eastern Shore. This year it will feature 65 exhibitors, both established and new emerging artists, more than 20 of which are new to the show. Featured items available for purchase will include unusual and hand-made home accessories, furniture, wearable art, jewelry and gifts.
The Preview Party Friday evening, October 17th, will feature music, food stations and cocktail and wine bars located throughout the show. Awards for Best Body of Work and Best Single Piece of Work will be presented at the party. The single ticket price for the evening is $75 per person and allows the ticket holder unlimited re-entry to the show on Saturday and Sunday. Or, become a Preview Party Host for $500 and receive 6 tickets to the Preview Party, complete with unlimited access to the show, and receive grateful recognition at the Preview Party and in the show catalog. The evening is a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with artists, visit with friends, enjoy fine foods and shop, all at the same time.
The show will be open Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. There will be special lunches and snacks available all day at the Gourmet Café. Daily admission is $10.00. The Craft Show is one of two major fundraisers for the Museum and an easy way to support its many community-based exhibitions, programs and educational opportunities for all ages.
