Annual Spring Event featuring The American Flamenco Repertory Company

This year the Academy Art Museum has invited Yjastros: The American Flamenco
Repertory Company to perform at its annual Spring Event. The Museum is
pleased to welcome this talented group from New Mexico and hopes you will
show your support by joining us this Spring.

Joaquin Encinias created Yjastros, a revolutionary flamenco performance
entity that is a unique blend of two different dance performance formats.
With Yjastros, Encinias joins the structured improvisation of traditional
flamenco and the mosaic quality of the American style repertory company.
While dance and theater repertory companies are common in America, Yjastros
is the first professional American touring company presenting flamenco in a
true repertory format.

Yjastros performers, recognized internationally for their artistry, present
breathtaking flamenco choreographies created exclusively for the company by
some of the finest flamenco artists in the world. Through these exciting
choreographies and masterful professional performances, Yjastros proudly
brings the creative visions of world renowned flamenco artists to the
American public and becomes a living flamenco archive.
